I need some help getting LOMAC FC to work. I'll give some background then explain my problem. I'm coming back to flight sim's after being away for several years (logged a lot of hours on falcon 4 back when it came out) I finally got myself a new computer last year, and have been reading up on the different sims and after much changing of mind decided to buy LOMAC (I was close to getting BS and probably will someday- A10C ) To make a long story short, I've been sifting through the different forums and I thought I knew what I need to do to get LOMAC FC going and get some of the great looking mods. My LOMAC CD arrived first and I've been playing for a couple of weeks and breaking in my new Saitek X52 - had a few minor problems - but I was flying - and thought a lot of stuff would sort out when I got FC and patched up to 1.12b. So when the FC CD arrived I got logged onto lockon.co.uk and downloaded the 1.12b patch (the one for eng CD ver.) I then installed FC and then the patch - then star force didn't work - as expected but when my computer was rebooting it didn't want to start again and went into some kind of auto recovery mode that took a good 5 min or so - when it did boot finally everything seemed ok - so I turned off the visa UAC thing rebooted and ran the lockon.bat file and it worked. Then tried to start game from desktop icon by right clicking and clicking "run as admin" and it froze during start up. After several unsuccessful attempts I tried uninstall everything and start over. Now the game will start but the graphics are messed up. The main menu comes up ok but if I click any buttons I get a blank (light blue?) screen or if I click a quick fly button it will go to the cockpit but it is all black and the sky is blank light blue ( I hit s to star and it is flying)
My system: Dell 430 with Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 6GB DDR3 ram, ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB, vista sp1 64bit. I should be able to run the sim with this!
Has anyone encountered a similar problem before or have any ideas? Is my graphics card OK? I'm going to try and shut down some other stuff that runs in the background - unplug external hard drive - and maybe reinstall again from scratch. Again LOMAC seemed to run fine but FC not so much. I've forked over my cash for the sim and FC upgrade and would like to see it working.
