After your comment about the driver I tried reinstalling the ATI driver from the CD. then updating it from ati.com. I am pleased to say that the menu screen is working correctly. Thank you for your help. I hope the solution will be of use to others who encounter the same problem.

DxDiag As requested DxDiag.txt Look forward to your thoughts on this one. I have updated all graphics drivers. I bet it is something really simple that I have missed. Hope you or someone else can spot it.

If you look at the menu screen some of the lettering has merged together If you look at the work Mission, Training, Encyclopedia and Replay. The same thing happens with the lettering in the option screen. I have tried reinstalling the sim with no effect.
