DCS doesn't start after upgrade to 2.7.11.22211
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Installation Problems
Hi Guys, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I firstly followed GurbyY's suggestion, and this solved the problem. So thanks a lot for that. Concerning Rudel's reply, I only found 2 LOGs: autoupdate_log, generated after my repair trial autoupdate_log_old, which was created right after the update I attach them here. Thanks again for your precious help. I would hae never be able to find the solution without you. Ciao! Andrea autoupdate_log.txt autoupdate_log_old.txt -
Dear All, After a hiatus of a few weeks, I've been invited to update my DCS (stable version) to version nr 2.7.11.22211. After a download of about 32 GB of stuff, the sim crashes on startup. Here's what happens: 1) I normally launch DCS 2) I get the launch screen: 3) I get the LOGGING IN message 4) The GETTING AUTHORIZATION DATA window appears: and after that the whole launch process stops with no futrther message and/or notice. I tried a REPAIR but couldnt solve the problem. Any hint, please? Thanks in advance for your kind and preciousvhelp. Regards, Andrea

Dear all, thanks for your precious feedback. Best regards

Hi Flappie, you're right, I have no SCROLL LOCK key. This thing drives me crazy. I know I could run my Nvidia GE FOrces Experience in background and have an FPS counter, but why should I have another software running when DCS has a built-in counter? Maybe the guys at ED can help..... I wait for their answer and/or any other hint. Thanks again.
-
Hallo everybody, I have no PAUSE key on mykeyboard. Hence, I can't turn the FPS counter on via the default combo LCTRL-PAUSE. I tried to assign a new combo but nothing happens. No counter shown on my screen, whatever I choose. Any hint? Thanks in advance for your answer. Regards

HOTAS Cougar not compatible with USB 3.0 ports???
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Thrustmaster
Hi Eduardo, Thanks. Actually, I just realized that my "OLD" PC had a USB 3.0 port and the COUGAR was plugged into it. So it's definitely not a USB 3.0-related issue. Thanks for the picture but, sorry, I'm not that much into techniques to understand what this is all about. I dp't even know how you reached that page..... So, I uninstalled the HOTAS software+drivers, and reinstalled all following your post on DCS forum. Now the HOTAS COUGAR Control Panel icon on my desktop has a "Windows" sign on it....... Any hint? Thanks, Andrea -
HOTAS Cougar not compatible with USB 3.0 ports???
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Thrustmaster
Yes, I did. And also tried to use the other USB ports. The problem is still there.... -
Hello everybody, this might have been discussed in the past but I couldn't find any post. So, sorry if it's the case. I own a COUGAR which perfectly worked on my 2018 PC. I now moved to a new Gaming PC which is only equipped with USB 3.0 ports. Once the software and drivers installed (thanks Rudel for the instructions), I run the Hotas Control Panel and I get the following message: "Device detection error. E2: ensure that the device is connected and worked properly". I now have the doubt that the COUGAR could be not compatible with 3.0. Is that the case? And, if it's the case, would you have any hint to use the COUGAR on 3.0 USB ports? Thanks in advance for your precious hints. Best regards.

Come copiare DCS e moduli su nuovo pc senza scaricare tutto di nuovo
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Italian

Vi ringrazio in anticipo. Ciao! Andrea

Hi, stand alone.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry, but I'm not that much into programming technique. I guess my F18 module updates automatically when I start DCS (if updates are available). How can I have access to the open Beta version? Thanks. Regards, Andrea
-
Dear all, It has certainly already been discussed on these forums but I couldn't find trace of it, so if it's the case I apologize for this message. I own the F-18 module and I see plenty of videos on the Air-to-ground radar. Also, I find plenty of discussions on this and other forums. However, this radar mode is not present in my F-18. Are the videos from Beta testers or am I unable to correctly update to a non-beta version that implements this awesome new feature? Should this radar mode be still unavailable to the public, any idea on when it will be released? Thanks for your reply Regards, Andrea

Thanks, understood. However, for all Instant Missions there's no way to enter the editor, so no way to understand on which frequency that flight should stay. And these INSTANT MISSIONS are important for newbies (as I am) to understand how the whole game and plane system work. Any hint?
-
Dear all, I fly the F-16 with Easy Communications. Whatever the mission I fly, either Instant action or Regular Mission, I never have any reply from my wingmen. I can exchange with AWACS and ATC, but I never get a reply from my wingmen whatever order I give (attack, formation and so on). I a sure to be on the right frequency since and Easy Comm should make sure that my radios are set on it. The fact that my wingmen cannot help me simply prevent me from accomplish many mission, since my weapon load is not enough to kill all the bandits.Any hint? Thanks for your help. Regards
-
Hi Deano87, it happens on all kind of missions. I've never ever been able to obtain a reply from my wingmen. Regards
-
Hallo again, I've run the repair, but I still have exactly the same issue..... Should I write this post to another section of the forum, i.e. BUGS?
-
Hallo Deano87, Thanks for your reply. I only have easy comm selected on general DCS options. No other Easy or Game aircraft systems. It's very weird. I can talk to ATC, tanker, AWACS and interact with them. But never woth my wingmen. I can open the mission editor, make sure that all the members of my flight are poised to be on the same frequency (ie. 127.00), then I go flying the mission, set up THAT frequency (127.00), then I open communication menu, FLIGHT is always gray, and whatever I ask the flight (wingmen) to do, no reply. I'm lost..... Regards
-
Hallo Deano87, Thanks for your reply. Now I see..... However, I'm afraid I need a some further explanations that I could not find on DCS's F-16 manual. Let's explain the situation: 1) I have set EASY COMMUNICATION on DCS's Gamplay settings 2) Whatever the mission (instant, trinaing or real mission), when I open the communication menu, FLIGHT is always in black. Which means that my Wingmen are not on frequency. This also happens on an Instant Action called "2 vs 1 Air Combat Maneuvering" in Caucasus scenario. I am supposed to co-ordinate my actions with my wingman, but I cannot talk to wingman as "FLIGHT" is black in my communications menu. So, basically, I cant absolutely do what the mission asks for, i.e. co-ordination with a wingman to kill a target. And I don't know on which frequency I'm supposed to talk to him as this is not written in the briefing. Moreover, you say that I can transmit on a frequency and listen on another. How can I achieve this with the onboard radio? Thanks for your help. Regards
-
Hallo, I'm sort of newbie in DCS and have a question concerning the role of Wingmen in missions like Coiled Vipers (Caucasus). Once in flight, I can hear what they say but they don't react to any of my orders (formation, attack bandits, and so on). No reply such as UNABLE too. I read on some posts that it might come from incorrect setting of the radios, but if this were the problem I should be unable to hear their transmissions. The fact that I can't get any help from my wingmen makes impossible to accomplish the mission tasks as I don't carry enough weapons to take care of all the enemies involved. Any hint? Thanks for your help.

TM Hotas Cougar: RDR Cursor not working
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi Eduardo, Hi everybody, I eventually found where the problem was. On TM CCP I did change the axis assignement as suggested by Rudel, but didn't select the "Apply enable/desable Windows axes state". Once I did it, CCP asked me to restart the device, restarted it and I eventually found my microstick perfectly operational. Sorry for the hassle and thanks to you all for having been helping me. Have nice flights. Andrea -
TM Hotas Cougar: RDR Cursor not working
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi Eduardo, Thanks for your reply. As I can see from the video taken of your CCP's VIEWER, when you move the microstick you can see movement in the rudder section, at Z2 and SR axis. When I do the same with my own CCP's VIEWER, I don't see any movement. Moreover, when I do manual calibration as you suggested, at step 14 and 15 (those that concern the microstick) I don't see ANY Movement in the RAW VALUE field on the bottom left of the window. What do you suggest? A faulty microstick? Is there any way I can perform a status of all the physical controls of my Throttle? Thanks for your help. Best regards, Andrea -
TM Hotas Cougar: RDR Cursor not working
flyingwolf replied to flyingwolf's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Sorry for using the wrong words. As I told you, I'm new to all this. In DCS's control setting page, under AXIS, the action "ANT Elev KNOB" shows "JOY_SLIDER2" under Thustmaster HITAS Cougar column, by default. If I double click to bind this action to a different axis, a "ADD ASSIGNMENT PANEL" windows pops up.When I move the KNOB back and forth, a JOY_RX shows up in the Key/Button field. If I push the OK, green button I find the JOY_RX and the JOY_SLIDER2 in the same cell under the Thustmaster HOTAS Cougar column. The weird things I found in DCS Control Settings: a) The "ANT ELEV Knob" action is bound to JOY_SLIDER2 by default. But no command seems to work on this axis. b) When I move the actual ANT ELEV Knob on the throttle, a white bar moves under JOY_RX. c) By default, "RDR Cursor Axis - X" is bound to no axis, while RDR Cursor Axis Y is bound to JOY_RY axis. d) If I try to bind "RDR Cursor Axis - X" to an axis, I'm only given 5 options and JOY_SLIDER2 is not shown. And to reply to your last question, in CCP's VIEWER all the buttons ans axes seem to work BUT the ministick at #19. If I push the ENABLE Button, then it turns red in the image. But if I move the ministick in both axes, nothing happens..... I hope my explanations are a bit clearer now. Thanks!
