  1. No G at all. But yes that's a good idea. I forgot program reset though. I'll see if I can recreate it. Ahhh that might have been it. I was in Sparrow and I think I went right back into A/G. Brilliant! I'll see if I can reproduce it and if this fixes it. Thank you!
  2. Last night I was flying with my new RIO friend showing him how the LANTIRN pod works. We were playing on a server I was hosting locally and he was in my back seat. We had locked onto a target in the LARNTIRN pod and had all the configuration setup (AG mode, GBU-12 selected and configured). As I was going to make my run I realized there was an enemy AI plane heading right for me. I quickly switched to AA mode, activated PAL on the radar and selected my only Sparrow. Fortunately I was able to lock on and hit him. Then I went back into AG mode. Unfortunately we couldn't get the bombs to drop. I noticed the station arm lights on the front panel no longer showed the stations were armed and cycling the station switches no longer activated the station (they stayed barberpolled). It felt like the game forgot there were bombs on the pylons. (I did check via external view the bombs were still there). Master arm was on the whole time. We restarted the mission and were able to drop bombs no problem (did not switch to AA mode this time). Did I do something wrong with my switches or does this sound like a MP bug? I can provide a track file if that helps.
  3. I am so appreciative for everyone's responses! So the Aim-54 will launch in Active mode within 10 miles. No exceptions. So not a good missile to fire into a furball.
  4. Ok so Ph Act switch makes the 54 active off the rail. Got it. The ACM cover up also make it active. But I found this from the HB manual. For all other modes and within 10NM of target (or in ACM or PH ACT) the AIM-54 will launch active off the rail and the targeted aircraft will immediately see the missile’s own radar actively engaging it. It will not loft in this case and thus the range is less than in the other two cases. So does that mean that no matter what the switches are set to, if fired within 10 miles of a locked or TWS target the 54 will go active right away? (I'm assuming locking via PD-STT is the exception since that causes a SAHR behavior all the way to the target). Can anyone clarify please? Thanks!
  5. If you are talking about DCS as opposed to real life, DCS does not yet model drag in a semi recessed state. In other words the missiles have the same drag as if they were on wing pylons.
  6. The RIO position has its own controls setup file. So you have to map your hat switch for views in both the pilot position and then the rio position file. When you select Adjust Controls, look in the upper left of the popup. It will probably say F-14 Pilot Sim. Change that to F-14 RIO Sim then setup the hat.
  7. Thanks. Less angles helps. I might just get the pro clip.
  8. Hey all, I just recently got into DCS world. I bought the T16000 pack with throttle, pedals and stick and a TrackIR. I picked up FC3 and the F-18 and have to say I'm having a really good time so far. My question is regarding TrackIR. It seems to be fairly stable but when I look down into the pit it seems to drift a little bit. Enough so it makes pushing buttons difficult. If I zoom in a little on the Hornet DDIs for example I can't push the buttons because it's moving too much. In the TrackIR software if I look down and hold my head very still, it starts drifting downwards and keeps going. This isn't just a little jitter, it's a fairly steady drift. The transmitter is lined up with the reflectors and is about 2 feet away. The camera view doesn't show any extra IR reflections behind me so I'm at a bit of a loss. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you solve it? Thanks! Crudbasher
  9. Are you flying a warbird? In the special options for those planes there is a Rudder Assist set to 100%. Turn that off and it will feel better. If not, I don't know. I have pedals.
