Индийские Су-30МКИ станут «Супер Сухими»

Российский производитель истребителей Су-30МКИ для ВВС Индии объединение «Иркут» заявило, что в скором времени эти самолеты будут доведены до уровня истребителей пятого поколения – «Супер Сухой» (Super Sukhoi). Об этом на московской авиакосмической выставке МАКС-2011 заявил глава «Иркута» Алексей Федоров.

Модернизация будет включать в себя оснащение истребителей новой кабиной, усовершенствованным радаром и применением технологий стелс, чтобы сделать их менее заметными для РЛС противника. В настоящее время ВВС Индии располагают примерно 100 истребителями этого типа в составе пяти эскадрилий. В конечном счете, индийская военная авиация будет иметь более 230 самолетов этого типа (13 эскадрилий).

Индийская авиастроительная корпорация HAL находится на стадии лицензионного производства Су-30МКИ на своем заводе в Бангалоре. «Обновление будет касаться на только тех истребителей, которые уже состоят на вооружении ВВС Индии, но и тех, которые будут производиться по лицензии или напрямую поставляться из России», сказал Федоров. Самое главное, самолет будет способен стать платформой для применения тяжелого оружия, в том числе сверхзвуковых КР «БраМос», добавил он.

Федоров также сообщил, что Су-30МКИ станет мощным самолетом, имеющим аналогичные функции как у истребителей пятого поколения. Однако он отказался предоставить конкретные детали этой программы, заявив, что эти вопросы предстоит решить на переговорах между индийской и российской сторонами. «В настоящее время обсуждаются возможности обновления отдельных видов оборудования самолета», сказал глава «Иркута». Также неизвестно, сколько будет стоить модернизация самолетов. Однако, судя по общей тенденции подобного рода модернизаций, стоимость может быть примерно на уровне 1 млрд долл США.

На данный момент не так много информации по данной модификации. Но уже есть фото предполагаемого варианта кабины:

Дисплеи судя по всему сенсорные, без кнопочного обрамления. По размеру больше, чем в Су-35С. Можно предположить, что около 18-19 дюймов.

На индийских форумах пока говорят о 92 самолетах, 50 будут модернизированы, а 42 новой постройки.

So far, what we now know:

 

-Some 100 aircraft to be upgraded, the first 50 plus the new 42 delivered.

 

-Joint responsibility: Overall architecture, avionics/cockpit glass layout with new MFDs, improved HOTAS etc, stealth features added

 

- India: DRDO/HAL - an Integrated Mission computing suite, new radios (probably the software defined suite developed at HAL), new datalinks, an improved EW suite (wingtip jammers + MAWS/LWS - element may come from Russia), new mission software, launcher for Brahmos/Nirbhay, Astra BVR, Nirbhay cruise missile (first launch due in 2012)

 

- Russia: Structural modifications for stealth, and aircraft to carry Brahmos (Sukhoi corp), internal improvements (possibly new APU+ECS) for higher power electronics, newer radar from NIIP - in Phase 1, Irbis level upgraded Bars, in Phase 2 AESA, newer weaponry- RVV-SD, RVV-MD mentioned, K-100 missiles (AWST). Su-35 mission software (e.g. sensor fusion is a possible). AWST and others ave mentioned that India may acquire the Zhuk-AE for the upgrade, but NIIP has been confident that its proposal (heavily improved PESA for phase 1 and AESA in the next) would succeed based on the maturity of NIIP PESAs plus performance still available, Indian investment in Bars etc. Also possible that a variant of the NIIP AESA for the PAKFA is to be provided in Phase 1 itself.

PM visit: India to buy 42 ‘upgraded’ Sukhois

After negotiating for more than a year, India has firmed up an order with Russia for the purchase of 42 upgraded Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft to strengthen its aging fleet. An agreement confirming this purchase will be signed during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Russia starting Thursday.

 

While the Cabinet Committee on Security had taken a decision on buying 42 additional Sukhoi MKIs last year, negotiations have taken longer because India was also keen to include some of the features found in fifth generation fighter aircraft. Finally, the Russian side agreed to upgrade the SU-30 MKIs to its latest version known as ‘Super Sukhoi’ with additional characteristics.

 

The new version is expected to include a new cockpit, an upgraded radar and certain stealth features to avoid radar detection. Significantly, the upgraded Sukhoi-30 MKIs will be able to carry a heavier weapons load, especially the airborne version of the Brahmos cruise missile. India is also looking to upgrade most of its SU-30 MKIs in the long run.

 

While Russia may have lost out in the Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft deal because of not being able to offer certain additional features, officials said, Moscow has assured New Delhi that it will roll out its best in upgraded SU-30 MKIs.

 

“The defence cooperation is robust and excellent. Our two countries have developed maturity that individual deals will not affect the ties,” said Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai while responding to a question on whether the MMRCA rejection will impact defence ties.

 

The deal, estimated at over Rs 20,000 crore, will be operational in three years with the first delivery expected in 2014 and the last by 2018. Once the 42 aircraft are inducted, the total strength of SU-30 MKI fleet will go up to 272. It may be noted that by 2017, India plans to phase out 120 MiG 21s and with the MMRCA still not a done deal, the SU-30 MKI fleet will be the mainstay.
