Many of us had something similar happen: the game crashes to desktop ("DCS.exe stopped working ...") and as consequence the debriefing would not be displayed. I had this happen occasionally as well, but I could see no real pattern and it was too sporadic to really bother me.

But I think, I have now narrowed it down a bit - or at least this specific case. To me it seems, that DCS crashes relatively often when the players aircraft crashed and explodes - as if it is related to the explosion effect. At least that is what I can now reproduce:

- fly an aircraft

- CFIT

- DCS changes to external view to display the explosion

- explosion is displayed and sound is played accordingly

- crash to desktop

This is - for me - also reproducible by playing back a TRK file.

I made 4 tests (see attached zip file for logs and dump files):

crash 1: flew Ka-50 into the ground. CTD

crash 2:

1. attempt: flew A-10C into the ground. Nothing happened, DCS run fine

2. attempt: same as 1

3. attempt: flew A-10C into the ground
while firing the gun until impact.
CTD!

crash 3: flew Ka-50 again into the ground. CTD.

crash 4: tried it with A-10C again.

1. attempt: no problems,

2. attempt: CFIT with guns ablazing -> CTD!

Although not tested now, I am pretty confident that I had something similar happen with the Huey as well (other a/c I haven't really flown in a while).

All tests were made using a clean, un-modded DCS (current public 1.2.7; DxDiag.txt included in ZIP)
