Is there any way to access the SADL network from a Lua script?

I would like to send a text message and/or a tasking (like JTAC does) to an A-10C from a mission script. Is there any way (including modding DCS) that can be done from the Lua environment or is all of that functionality implemented in (not publically documented) binaries?
