Above is my current setup.

I am not knowledgeable about Monitor Specs or Selection. I have done some internet research and I am not reaching a clear consensus to help me choose a new monitor.I am asking for those in the Community that do have experience and understanding only to please share their Wisdom to help me make a more educated choice while I am studying and learning about monitors Please no one take exception to this last statement, I am solely looking for expert technical advise from those who know, not an opinion based thread like, "well, I bought this monitor and it looks really good" . I have read quite a few threads like this on several Forums, and I haven't found to much technical knowlegde in them.

Here is what I am looking at.

Asus VG278HE

http://www.asus.com/us/Monitors_Project ... fications/

I sit about 27" from my current monitor.

I have my resolution set in Nvidia Control Panel as a custom resolution at 1776x1000 60hz 32bit 16:9 . Please don't ask me why, as it has been pointed out that my Native Res is 1366x768. I was researching and playing around with resolutions, and found this to be the best picture with good performance that works in all Flight sims for me(even DCS World, LOL). (at least 30fps, up to 80Fps)

I have a good picture on my Vizio now, but obviously by looking at a true Computer monitors specs, I am guessing that I will have a much better picture with a high quality monitor????

I understand my AMD Chip is not cutting edge technology, but I am looking for the monitor that will still deliver good FPS while delivering a High Resolution.

I want a 26 or 27" monitor, but would 24" be more efficient for my System? Keep in mind that I am 50 years old and my eyesight is ok now, but it is not getting any better, LOL. Realistically, 500$ is my upper limit +/- 50$

1. 1920x1080, 1920x1200 or 2550x1440? Which will my system be able to handle realistically? Which is best suited to Flight Simming. No Multi-Monitors for me.

2. 60hz or 120hz+ ? My main concern is 2D Flight Sims with a very remote 3d interest.

3.Which Panel Style will my system handle efficiently? TN , VA , IPS

4. Depending on panel style, what is min/max response/MS recommendation ?

5.Pixel Pitch? It seems .311mm is Common?

I know there are a lot of questions here, but i would really appreciate any technical expertise that anyone might share with me. Thanks in advance.

PertP , I would really value your advice with this.
