Skelturoth Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 hey everyone ! i have the x52pro for about a month now, and it all worked absolutely fine up to a point where right after the game, joystick movement became somewhat "hard". i still can move precisely, but i feel like something is braking it down, or like there is a piece of metal rubbing against other piece of metal. i've tried lubricating it with almost everything ( after searching the google ), but no dice. doesn't matter which kind of lube i use, it's the same, so i suppose it's not the silver dish/spring parts that are causing the problem. then, by moving the joystick a bit faster, i could hear the creeky sound. and i think its coming from the part indicated on the picture ( scratching the same surface with my nail makes similar sounds ). my question is - does anyone have the experience with this, or does anyone know how to get to that part, so i could clean it up or something ? tnx. http://i62.tinypic.com/293buw8.jpg
ShuRugal Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 that part is a dust cover, it's main function is to prevent debris entering the stick body and to look pretty. It also serves as a travel-limiter (though it is not necessary in that regard, I removed mine and never have had a problem over-running the travel of the stick) To do this non-destructively, you will need to be willing to fully disassemble your stick, which will include removing the wires from the connector and re-installing them in to the correct slots. The other option is to open the base of the stick and use a pair of dykes (or similar tools for cutting light-gauge metal) to cut the disk and remove it.
Skelturoth Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 thanks ! after opening the joystick and inspecting everything, googling a bit more, i've come to a conclusion that it's the plastic ring which holds the small spring. so it definitely needs to be disassembled, cleaned up and stuff. :)
