In single player the missiles of my f-15 are extremely screwed. My aim9s have an effective range of 2 km before their out of fuel and fall to the ground. My aim-120c is having similar problems however their effective "bvr" range is only 10 km. What is going on? Was the f-15 in dcs world implemented this way on purpose? How does this work in multiplayer with a-10s that have realistic missiles compared to these dud buckets? BTW my settings are all set to simulation. thanks for the help in advance

Edit: Also i can only find targets if i start a mission and press i to turn on radar. The second i switch modes my radar loses all contacts and does not regain them no matter the range.

Ive asked for help in-game online but it seems no one knows wth im talking about

The AIM-9 is the same AIM-9 as in the one you load on the A-10. Sounds like you're flying low and slow and not reaching anywhere near Max range. Head on aspect at medium altitude and combat speed I can score a kill with the 120C at 40NM.

Missiles are also the same in multiplayer as single player.

I suggest you perform tests in multiple situations and use tacview to evaluate missile performance. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I think we can put this one down to user error...

Its allready true that missiles are short ranged because wip modelling issues .. Just use search

Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC )

The best range I've gotten an AIM-9 kill at vs a human opponent was about 6nm, 8-9nm vs AI. There is next to no scenario where you would/should get a 120 kill from 40nm at "medium" altitude with the current missile modeling against either human or AI. Perhaps 20nm if the bandit makes zero effort to evade. Heck some people manage to spoof the 120 head on at 12nm or less.
