I didn't want to make a separate thread just for this, but it's entirely possible that it's pilot error involved here and not a bug.

I'm trying my hand at the "Heavy Sky" Campaign. Mission 2 is an easy task to bait SAM sites and RTB. So I'm touching down at Sochi, and my plane explodes in a ball of fire.

I had just done the CQ for the Su-33 repeatedly and figured I was auguring because I learned some bad habits from the Kuznetsov. I repeated the mission and detonated on the runway again. ...and again. ...and yet again. VSI and glide slope looked good. I figured I was flaring too much and striking that rear radome on the runway. So I came in on a slightly faster low attitude approach and...

whoa, success! ...then I rolled about 100m down the runway only to miraculously explode again.

So I slapped together a mission in the editor and landed at Sochi in my Su-33 without issue. I watched the air speed and VSI like a hawk, then duplicated it in the campaign mission.

...and promptly detonated on the runway.

"Fiasco!" the mission text exclaims.

You've got that right, pal.

Aside from night carrier stuff, landing the jets has become pretty routine for me. I land the Sukhoi and Migs all the time. I land them at Sochi all the time. Sometimes after an engine fire or other severe damage.

But in this campaign mission, I get 100% explosion -instantly- without any systems failure or anything. Once, even when I was already 3 wheels planted firmly and just decelerating.

This is not a brand spanking new mission, and I did not see anything on the forums about it, so is it possible it's something that has popped up in 1.7-1.8? Of course, I can be doing something horribly wrong. If so, any advice? Runway is 06 and I think wind is reported at 3 m/s @ 235.

I'd post tracks, but if I understand correctly, that kind of fine detail is not preserved. Maybe I will fraps it.
