Jumbik Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Hello guys, I have a question about how to navigate to an airfield in F-15. From Su-25 training mission I know that some airfields have a navigation system which will lead you to the landing. In F-15 though I have only way points of actual location of the airfields but without looking at the map I do not know from which way should I approach them. I can contact the airfield and they will point me to their location, but that's all I have found so far. Is there a way how to get a way point approach to an airfield in F-15 so that it would lead me to the landing right away so I would not have to make one or two flybys to see the correct approach vector? Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
howie87 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Make sure you're set to ILS nav mode (number 1 by default) and use this to make sure you're heading towards the right aerodrome: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123634 Then learn to read the HSI and ADI correctly. FC3 will automatically enter the HSI course for you to line up with the runway. Using these two instruments you should be able to perform a full instrument landing.
Jumbik Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Thank you, I will look into it. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
bigcountry Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 When you call atc and they give you the heading and then they give you the runway number. The runway number is in degrees so if they tell you to land on runway 30 then you need to head 300° to hit the correct runway. Communication is Key
