Logitech Attack 3 Joystick erratic

Hello again,

 

I have been using that joystick for quite a while now in FSX, IL2 and DCS and although its pretty basic in functions I like it because its left-handed like me. ;)

 

But recently it got erratic. In zero position its a bit loose :joystick: so I always have to set up my deadzone quite high. This doesnt really help much, because as soon as I pull up or roll, as soon as its out of the deadzone it is twitching and ruining my aim. (Try to hit anything with the SU-25's gunnery like that....precise steering is very hard that way)

 

Now is this simply an effect of hardware degradation or is there anything I can do about this? I already recalibrated three days ago but after two flown missions it was the same again.
