so for the -220 I've seen several different performance marks, the most common being 23770lbs and 25,000lbs. Which is the correct figure? What is the reason for different figures?

Short answer, all are correct depending on the circumstances.

Long answer,

Most of those figures are at optimum conditions in a test cell. This power outputs change depending on the aircraft the engine is mounted on and from each individual engine. Also, power is affected by meteorological conditions ( temperature, air density, etc) Additionally, there are several sub version of each engine type. All this works together and we end up with different figures. For example, lets say when the engine where first made the max power was "X", the company trying to sell them used that figure as the power output, later on after modifications, power increase to "Y" so company use those numbers to sell. Further more, some people ( writers, etc) may confuse the engine with similar versions and may group a -200 with a 220 or a 220E and assume they are all F100 PW engine so they may have the same power output and use -200 power output while writing about the 220.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.
