How to install aircraft Mod?

Sorry, this might be a stupid question to ask but I've been itching to fly the MiG-31, but this is a Mod.

 

I've downloaded the Mod, but I have no idea how to install it... I cannot find any tutorials on YouTube or anywhere else on how to do so. Can somebody help a newbie like me to install this Mod? :pilotfly:

I think this mod works by placing it in your mods/aircraft folder... you can find that where you installed DCS

Ok, so I have just pasted it into the aircraft/mods

 

But now when I try to start DCS, it doesn't open. It pops up a command prompt up with bin/launcher.exe

 

So what happens now other than the fact I might need to re-install the whole game and modules?

 

EDIT: So I reverted (deleted) the planes from the mod folder and now DCS starts fine... are you sure it's that?

sounds like the mod is a .rar, you'll need to unpack the .rar file to a new folder, open it (there should be a folder inside named mig31) place that folder in your mods/aircraft directory.... could you provide a link to the mod you are trying to install?
