tusler Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Hi, I am enjoying just flying around in the new FM for the 27, it feels fun... Does anyone know what is the best corner speed in this current flight model? I may try straying into some air combat but I have a lot to learn first. It sure aint like flying no helicopter:doh: Thanks for the crucial info ahead of time. Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! mvsgas Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 From the Manual The diagram below illustrates turn rate vs KIAS (knots indicated airspeed) performance chart of a modern fighter at afterburner thrust. Airspeed is displayed along the X axis and degrees per second is displayed along the Y axis. The "dog house" looking plot is the aircraft’s turn performance along this scale. The other lines represent G-loads and radius of turn. Such a diagram is often called a "dog house" plot or an Energy and Maneuvering (EM) diagram. Though the turn rate at 950 km/h has a maximum turn rate (18.2 degrees per second), the speed to achieve a smaller turn radius is around 850-900 km/h. For other aircraft, this speed will vary. For typical fighters, corner speeds are in 600-1000 km/h range. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
