Mission Valkyrie

Here's a video/movie of a mission I formulated adding on to the previous "Sting in the Tail" mission.

 

Its uploaded to the "Files" section, but I guess the guys are busy this weekend!

 

Its a Huey mission:-

""A movie based on a DCS single player mission I created, Valkyrie.

 

The mission has objectives. Here you are flight commander of a flight of 4 UH1-H Huey's. With a platoon of marines aboard, you must infill to a hot LZ.

On route you are tasked to eliminate a blocking force of infantry guarding a fortified house stronghold. These forces are preventing a FAC APC group from advancing.

A navigation challenge is added by the use of the UH1's RDF. The enemy are transmitting on two VHF frequencies. You may use the Huey's RDF to give you a pointer to the enemy position. Once in range, the friendly FAC will mark the enemy with red smoke and pop blue to eliminate uncertainty as to what you must attack!!

 

Blue air, A10c's, will degrade the enemy resistance at the LZ.

 

Once in-filled you provide CAS to your marines as they disable the enemy coms tower and TV mast.

You then provide exfiltration and RTB.

 

The mission is scripted in a way to encourage rapid execution. A Sting in the Tail awaits if you are tardy.

 

The enemy will launch a retaliatory strike on your forces 5 km north of the LZ. The area becomes hotter with time.

The mission provides a backup force of 2 Huey's if your flight suffers too many losses to complete the exfil. Thus you can have a second chance (DCS hop between airframes is handy here..(would that be nice in real life...?)
