Hmmm... subject of this thread was changed even I didn't touch it. It was obvious problem...

 

Actually, I am a newbie in this game. I just played few hours of multiplay, but I found obvious problems.

Before I start, I am not living in English using country, so my english looks weird or rude sometimes, but it is not I intended. Please understand about it.

 

 

1. Server environment.

 

I saw lot's of super jingkings in this game(

). Ping of the server I played is just 230(It is not high. Most of other sims can play without any problems with this ping) and specification of my computer satisfied all required.(i5 4670k, 780ti, 16gb ram).

 

 

2. Distortion of View Sight.

 

I saw this ACIENT PROBLEM since LOFC1. What are you doing ED?

 

 

3. Frame.

 

Actually, graphics of DCS is not high end class anymore, but frame of it is lower and more delayed than other sims released these days, and it need expensive computer to play. Please do optimize this game.

 

 

4. Firepower

German 30mm minengeschos is one of the most powerful aircraft gun ammunition in WW2. Lesser than 8 shots for shotdown 4 engined bomber, need only 1 or 2 shots for fighter aircrafts.

 

In this game, 30mm is useless. In single mission, I hit more than 10 shots(4 shots of them was minengeschoss) to P-51D but it still fly with some smoke. It is weird. It is weaker than MG151/20 in history. If it still like this at full release, please give us MG151/20 as motorkannon.

 

 

5. Engine Endurance.

 

In Bf109K-4 handbook in history, we can find this part.

 

"Der mitgeführte MW-Stoff (75 Ltr.) reicht für 26 Flugmin.-Sondernotleistung aus. Es kann also 2 x 10 min Sondernotleistung entommen werden, oder eine andere Zeitaufteilung; auf keinen Fall mit Sondernotleistung über 10 min fliegen. Weiteres über Bedienung siehe L. Dv. T. 2109 K-4/Fl.

Zwischen zwei Sondernotleistungen muss eine Betriebszeit mit geringer Motorleistung von mindestens 5 min liegen."

 

It means

 

"The amount of MW booster fuel being carried (75 liters) is sufficient for 26 minutes of flight while using the Sondernotleistung. Therefore Sondernotleistung can be used for two 10 minute periods, or in any other subdivision; in no case should one fly with Sondernotleistung for over 10 minutes. For further servicing instructions, see L. Dv. T. 2109 K-4/Fl.

Between two uses of the Sondernotleistung the engine must be run at a lower power output for ca. 5 minutes."

 

But in this game, We can use full power with MW50 continuously only 5 or 6 mins. After that, engine just die.

Hi,

 

welcome! Thank you for your notes.

 

Regarding the damage model, please remember the K4 is still work in progress ( beta version ), and lot's of tuning will take place with further updates.

 

Damage model, mostly it's visual component, is certainly not the strongest aspect of DCS World, at least in as far as ww2 aircraft go ( I use only these... ), but it is much more detailed /complex in terms of it's impact on the aircraft systems. I believe ED is well aware of the present limitations, but they're very busy right now with the new graphics engine - EDGE - so, I believe they'll have more time to dedicate to this aspects as soon as EDGE is released and stable.

 

Flight Dynamics modeling is certainly one of the strongest aspects of DCS World. At least to me it certainly is, by far, the most advanced flight simulation game I ever used. That's also why, although I am really not a fan of Air Combat, I keep it together with my other very specific flight sim ( Aerowinx PSX ), simply because it offers me a remarkable feel of what my mind has represented as the experience of flying one of those powerful ww2 fighters, the same applying to the rotary wing ( uh-1h ), the only limitations resulting from the fact that I do not own a FF joystick.

 

There are already a few threads on the gun power issues, namely this one, but since Air Combat is really not my cup of tea, I do not worry about it's accuracy, although I would naturally like to know that, even in that field, DCS is accurate.

 

The MW50 limit seems ok to me? Are you sure you didn't forget to set your prop pitch to AUTOMATIC after takeoff?

 

I've flown many missions where I surely used MW50 continuous for a lot longer than 5 minutes ?

 

I strongly hope you end up finding the best reasons to keep using this SUPERB flight and air combat simulation platform. During the last year I have tried some alternatives, but eventually decided to concentrate only in DCS World - no other platform offered me the level of quality / complexity / accuracy in flight and overall physics modeling that DCS World aircraft and platform provide, and, it'll only continue to get better ;-)

1. MG151/20 in Fw190D-9(it finished beta test) have same problem. MG151/20 is almost same with .50cal in this game both of singleplay and multiplay. It is Obviously worng.

 

2. About FM, I still thinking about that and I need more experience. I will not talking about FM in this thread.

 

3. I turn on auto prop pitch when start up everytime. I have to test about this.
