Hi,

I was playing the Dora campaign and I noticed that if I get into a stall followed by a spin, by the time I recover from spinning (so nose still pointing down, but not spinning anymore) the speed indicates 0. Initially I thought maybe it's 800km/h not 0, but the strange thing is that when I pull the nose back up to get into a level attitude the speed indicator stays at 0 for a while and then it starts _increasing_ up till about 300-400 and that doesn't make any sense.

Anyone knows why does this happen? It happened to me at least twice during the campaign (the dog fighting missions) but I didn't try to replicate it.

It could be your pitot-tube icing up. Turning on the pitot-heat CB might get it working again.

I thought about that but the pitot heat was on (the mission starts in the air with the pitot heat already on)

Early pitot could get confused and malfunction when going from zero to a high speed, that's why when you pulled out and started level flight again, the hamsters started running on their wheels again and it returned to normal. Don't always trust the speed indicator. Get a feel for your plane. Sometimes i was indicated 276 or 278 on my speed indicator but hat flaps on and turned in on mustangs, my recomendation is not to pull straight up and climb in a dora, use the superior starightline speed and then climb, the only time you should be going vertical is to do an immelman or a split s or a full loop

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

I don't know if it is simulated, but if you are in a side slip these indications are unreliable. Enough side slip, and the air gets sucked out of instead of rammed into the pitot tube and then speed indications can go into negative if there is nothing to stop the needle at zero.
