With the new Map Nevada and NTTR coming in the next two weeks ( ) - how is a 'real' RED FLAG / GREEN FLAG campaign set up.

Yes ED works on it, but...!

I know the stupid IMAX Fighter Pilot Op Red Flag Movie (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7zk_2S5esE) which tell you nothing usefull.

I want to know, how a "typical" Red Flag / Green Flag mission is setup:

- mission goals

- area setup

- etc. pp.

I got no other info on this that the one I can fish around the net, and it is not that much...

But my idea on this is that there is no "typical" set up, at least not on the big picture.

I will think that every exercise is different, they run three or four every year, so I would think that each one have a difernt goal to achieve, depending on the learnings they want the students to achieve, the air assets they have available( different air forces and aircraft type), different ROEs and such.

If the goal for this exercise, as I think, is to improve the tactics, coordination, skills and the know-how of the modern warfare, it will be strange to have a standar set-up of the exercise as the tecnology and knowledge is constantly goin´forward.

But this is only a guess from me, it will be nice to get more info about this from more erudite people.

At the moment, i can image two scenarios for Red Flag:

i) Blue defend the airspace over Orangecountry [Orangecountry had separate from Redland and is under constant threat from Red (C&P from Jetstream 7 - Do or Die)]

ii) Blue enforce a NO-Fly-ZONE over Greencountry
