h3pilot Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I would like the ability to map a key (or button) to the same action on multiple aircraft. Some sort of "assign to all" option when mapping controls/buttons. For instance, the ability to assign the "B" key to the "Airbrake Extend" action on EVERY aircraft that has the Airbrake Extend action available. I do like the ability to map actions to individual aircraft. Being able to assign Joystick button #2 as "weapons release" on an F-15, but "Drag Chute" on a Su-25, allows more realism and I don't want to lose the ability to do that. I am tired of having to map the same action 16 times if I want the "J" key to be "Weapons Jettison" on ALL my aircraft. A "Delete from all" option would be nice too. Happy flying! There are probably not that many functions that are shared between all/most aircraft. One aircraft might have "Airbrake on" and "Airbrake off", the other maybe "Airbrake on/off toggle", the third has both and the helos have none ... :o) Landing gear: same problem. There are in fact aircraft where the gear logic is even more complex (MiG-21). And so on... I am not saying that this is a bad idea, but it would probabl need more ground work first ("unification" of controls across the aircraft ... a HUGE issue imho atm) and without that, the benefits would dimish quickly (i.e. you still would have to remember to manually check the mappings of 3 ... 5 .. 7 aircraft - and for every function it would be different 3, 5 or 7 aircraft)
Diplocaulus Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 There's also not much consistency in what various functions are called from one mod to the next. That said, it would be nice if view and kneeboard functions could be managed across all mods as those appear consistent.
