finger Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 1.Manual dampering,by button on control stick "LOCK TARGET-GYROSCOPE DAMPERING.El.coils of el.mag.correction(vertical and horizontal) are fully powered,so its can produce the strongest el. mag. field.Gyroscope is elec- tro-magneticaly caged in boresight position. We can use it ,when performed manouvering has high angle velocity. 2.Automatic dampering, when angle of divergence of gyroscope mirror is 7degree .On bottom side of mirror is flexible wire ,which can touch to ring contact on gyroscope assembly. El.coils are powered and gyroscope is re- turned toward boresight direction. But,in this dampering circuit is capacitor with short time of discharging -dampering effect is very short.Piper will be oscilating in spread of 40minutes(11,5 mils),vertically toward to boresight. When angle velocity become smaller, angle of divergence is less than 7degree-dampering is ended. 3.Automatic dampering ,when we have minimum range input for example: fixed 300m.Vertical el.coils are disconect, because we do not need to compu- ting angle of aiming(very short range to target, high velocity of gun projectile).Horizontal el.coils are powered (lead angle),by relay system, when ASP is in fixed 300m mode. Now piper has fluently movement around bore- sight line in horizontal plane. This function of dampering is only for FIX 300M RANGE.(FIRE,GUN,MAN,GYRO -distance is set to min by rotation grip, red light BREAK OFF is ON [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Harle Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) Why manually damper the reticule in fixed 300 m. mode? Only fixed net in used for high-G maneuvering targets, isn't it? And the circular reticule wouldn'd stray off anyway while leading non maneuvering ones. Or did I miss something...? Edited March 21, 2015 by Harle

When you have to set ASP in fix300m range mode (FIRE,GUN,MAN,GYRO, AIR)distance is set to MIN by rotation grip on throttle(below 600m)red light BREAK OFF is ON. When these conditions are fulfil a group of relay ensure: -disconnecting pwr. supply from damper.button on cntrl.stick -disconnecting pwr. supply from vert.computation coils(no need computing aiming angle) -connecting bigger pwr.supply to vert.compensation coils(dampering) -connecting bigger pwr.supply to horiz.compensation coils(dampering) -pwr.supply on horiz.computation coils will be responsible to lead angle whitch is computed in this time. -The piper never disapear from your angle of view up to 5-6g force load, because of difference between angle velocity of target and your Mig is very small.Practically you are seating on its tail [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

So what is the actual purpose of this dampening thingy? I thought it's supposed to keep the pipper within the reflector glass during maneuvering.
finger Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Yes.Only in GYRO mode.In SS mode mirror is mechanically caged in boresight line and gyroscope is disconect from power supply. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
