Scenery mods?

I'm just curious... are there any lockon mod teams who are doing scenery packs for Lock on? The reason I ask is because I'm in the middle of writing an essay on why democracy hasn't come to the middle east properly and I just figured it would be great to have a middle-east campaign setting..

 

(I don't want to come off sounding like a gun-toting anti islamic flight sim freak. I'd just like to see some more contemporary campaign settings rather than the old Russians vs. USA. ones)

you could try Birdy's (its one of the best) But as far as something chnaging the look of the region completely to desert, etc.. Not sure.

Not possible, we can't edit more terrain in.

 

 

What you can do, if you are very very careful, is add more static objects to the scenery files. Birdy has added a lot more trees to the map, and there's a mod out there that adds the Merzifon airbase in Turkey . . . . but right now that's all.

 

There is apparently going to be a further terrain expansion at some point, whether it be with Black Shark or a future addon we don't know . . . . but entirely new areas of the map won't be forthcoming any time soon.

 

 

Iran really isn't all that far from the Black Sea, though, and so far the terrain expansions have been to the South-East . . . . in Iran's general direction . . . . give ED long enough and they might get there ;)

 

 

 

edit - ah, there are desert textures available for the landscape . . . . but they only cover the same land that's originally there.
