I'm slowly catching up on all the changelog updates; forum posts; and flying the latest build.

 

I haven't noticed it to be obvious yet; so please excuse me if this is a nooby question.

 

Is their damage modelled for 9G stress on the aircraft ?

Limited testing it appears there is a safety model to restrict the aircraft to 9G; is it possible to do over 9G and is there damage modelled with this or not.

 

Just a curiosity question.. thanks.

nope. I don't think the aircraft can pull over 10 G's. now the Su-27 on the other hand :)

 

and no damage modeling from G-stress is not implemented

The F-15 can easily exceed 10 g at low altitudes, but the stress model isn't implemented yet. It shouldn't be a big deal in most situations as aircraft are stressed to 150% the requirement usually, meaning the F-15 can survive 13.5g. Real F-15's have gone up to 15 g without complete failure.

There's almost no need for a stress model. F-15's have been flown to 12g's in training and in combat without adverse effects other than reducing the number of airframe hours.

 

The only F-15A that got 'bent' by G's had to pull 12.5 for several seconds (600kt dive into the sea. The pilot didn't want to die - also, some of the video descriptions say the aircraft 'momentarily pulled 40g'. This is BS).

 

That aircraft landed, but since the airframe was warped, it could no longer be used. That airframe is now a showpiece.

 

F-15Cs are built a little stronger. Mind you, if you're hauling fuel tanks on the wings and they're full then yes, the aircraft would disintegrate if you over-g. Happened in RL.
