Guest Cali Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Yesterday the wife did something to the computer. I was going to reformat the C drive last night. I started saving all the info I needed off of the c drive. And the next thing I know it shut off on me. So I disconnected the power and turned it back on and still nothing. I swapped power supplies with my other computer......still nothing. I swapped the battery from the other computer also...NOTHING. I ask her if she shocked it and she said no. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be. My mobo, processor and power supply are only about 5 months old. thanks for any and all help.
WhiskeyRomeo Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Getting any "beep codes" during the power on attempt? What motherboard are you using? Some have LED indicators that might help narrow down problem.

No beeps (nothing at all no lights) it's a gigbyte board. If I can't get it to work I'm going to take it to RuGG's house again. <-----what is this like the 3rd time. Then I'm going to lock it so the kids can't get to it and maybe the wife too ;) need to make a new sig or change the 1 I have, but it's on the broke computer aggghhhhh.
WhiskeyRomeo Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 The only thing that comes to mind is that it might be the actual power switch on the case. If that failed it might explain why a known good power source can't be switched on.

I'm going to take it to Daddy RuGG's house either today or tomarrow.
Guest Cali Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Changed out the mobo and it works now. The old mobo was only 5 months old, I don't know why it just died. Oh well it's working now but I still need to reformat the C drive cause I'm getting bad stutters and none of my mods work.
