Chann3l Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 The second mission in the companion doesn't specify any arc or rsbn channels for the way points in either the briefing or the kneeboard from what I can see. I can see where the way points are on the map. Am I supposed to just try and follow that or am I missing something?
Tello Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 What I normally do is to set my rsbn to the airport I take off from, then I simply use the bearing & distance to figure out when/if I need to sdjust course. The more you fly the more you develop a map in your head so that you roughly can tell what direction you need to be at. Also use landmarks as reference points. If you want to fly the exact precise course in the ME, then use the ruler and bearing to see at what distance you need to adjust heading. But don't get all serious about it. Just take off and fly in the general direction until you get to next step in the mission. Hope that it helped you to finish the campaign. Good flying [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I don't expect to be flying the exact course when there is no arc or rsbn for the way point I just don't want to be flying in the opposite direction but with the use of the map it should make it fairly simple but it was nice to get some clarification on that, cheers.
Chann3l Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 I should also note as I missed this when reading the manual. You can also mark your position on the map on the kneeboard with right ctrl + down arrow. I'm sure most DCS veteran players already knew this but I just discovered it and it is helpful.

I'm on OpenBeta 1.5 and the latest MiG-21 build - and don't get to see waypoints shown on the map - ever. Also, the kneeboard function doesn't bring up the map (as shown in the manual). I had to go into the mission EDITOR to see where the hell I was meant to go!!!
