Problem with fuetanks

HI,

I notice that the externalfueltanks of AI's planes don't be effective above

the internalmaxfuelweight.

I've made this test for example:

A flying of F4-E between Criméa and Géorgia at low altitude (800m)

and high speed (2304km/h) for a quick test.

Internal Fuel 50% + 0 External Tank = 2432 kg of fuel,RTB after 3min43s

" " 80% + 0 " " = 3891 kg " " " 6min 40s

" " 100% + 0 " " = 4864 kg " " " 8min 37s

" " 100% + 3 " " =10114 kg " " " 8min 37s

" " 50% + 1 " " = 4887 kg " " " 8min 37s

" " 20% + 1 " " = 3428 kg " " " 5min 38s

" " 50% + 2 " " = 5225 kg " " " 8min 37s

" " 0% + 1 " " = 2430 kg " " " 5min 08s

" " 0% + 2 " " = 2820 kg " " " 5min 48s

" " 0% + 3 " " = 5259 kg " " " 8min 37s

Is it a bug? a problem with my soft (file corrupted)?

Thank.

(Sorry for my bad english)

Well, tanks do add to the drag, which means you'll have to use more thrust to keep the same speed as you would without them = higher fuel-consumption. This also means that less internal fuel = lower fuel-consumption. Can you do something similar with a reduced speed? Say 650 km/h?

I have made some tests with:

-F4E altitude 2000m ,speed 650km/h (same waypoints), first without external tank, second with 3 : both are in RTB after 1h39min.

-F16C Alt 7500m speed 950km/h, first no ET, second 3 tanks : both in RTB after 50min

-SU25 Alt 800m speed 750km/h, first no ET, second 4 tanks : both in RTB after about

1h30min ,but i'am sure that the one with 4 tanks was short petrol 2 min before the first

(the drag is well simulated).

I don't know if there is a link but yesterday i ask me what happend after refueling;

answer: after refueling the AI's planes have a range...unlimited!

(test with F15, SU24, SU34)
