Hi everybody,

I'm searching for an English speaking group to join. I'm cutting into the chase: :smartass:

I'm looking for a group that:

--------------------------------

- Is willing to train its members. I don't mean from scratch, I won't be needing instructions on how to operate the aircraft's flight and weapon systems. However, I do need help and training in flight formation protocols, situation awareness during combat scenarios, tactics etc.

- Runs multiplayer missions and organizes campaigns. Participation in competitions would also be great! I'm very much interested in reaching the skills for competitions!

- Serious about realism, but casual in attitude.

I can offer:

-------------

- I'm only interested in A-10C (for now).

- I enjoy realism more than anything, so I'm willing to train in order to be able to enjoy the sim to its full and be a useful pilot for the team. Training to reach realism is a joy for me.

- My presence on an average of 2-3 times on weekdays and almost every weekend on various hours.

- Casual and friendly behaviour (I'm a charm, even if you couldn't tell because the guy's making lists of prerequisites :P ).

Just some quick info on me. Name is Themis, I'm in my mid 30s, and I'm living in Greece (fluent in English). Preferably, I would like to join a European group, mostly to be in sync with timezones, as I suspect more people are online during nights on weekdays. If time is not an issue, I don't really mind where the group is based.

Like I said, I'm not going to be needing any training in operating the aircraft, even for the most complex tasks, however, "operate" is all I can do. I'm a total noob when it comes to realistic warfare scenarios, military protocols or even plain flight tactics (like avoiding a missile).

In case I fit your group/clan/squadron mentality, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks,

Themis "opterios"

Hi Themis,

the 132nd might exactly be what you are looking for. We currently have 4 active squadrons. One for KA-50, one for A-10C, one for ATC and one for JTACs. On Wednesdays 1900z we run trainings and on Sundays 1900z we run combat missions.

Recently, our A10-C squadron opened the door for new recruits. We more or less expect from you that you have a basic understanding on how to operate your aircraft and systems, which you do, the rest we will teach you.

Our IQT training involves ATC coms and procedures at the airfield, 2-ship formations and basic maneuvers.

Once that is completed, in MQT you will practice proper deployment of guns and rockets, such as high and low angle strafes, attack heading restrictions, offsets, popup attacks etc.

MQT finishes with a full combat-like checkout ride to earn your wings. After that, you are fully qualified and welcome to participate in our combat missions.

After MQT however, training never stops. Next will be CAS with real JTACs (some of our guys do this in the real world), and eventually up to instructor pilot and/or FAC(A) qualification.

We just started a new campaign, for which the first event will be this Sunday, and many other virtual squadrons will join. This however is not a competition, as you state in your post, we all work together to support troops on the ground, provide SCAR, CAS, strike missions, also troop transport with Huey to reinforce FOBs etc. We also have CAP flights in the air, and all is directed by AWACS controllers. It is very in depth and a lot to learn, but that is the fun part of this game/sim.

If you are interested, click on the banner which will bring you to our homepage.

Hi Entropy,

I was contacted by one of your members in PM and already had a look at your website. I think you offer exactly what I was looking for, you'll be hearing from me very soon :)

Thanks for your reply!
