Knils_de Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I don´t know if this is a bug, but after touchdown, nose high (aerobraking), the engine RPM stays at 57%, until the front wheel will hit the ground. When the front hits the ground, the RPM will instantly drop to 49%. I find the runway needed on landing very long and the aerobraking very weak. Could this be the reason ?
Fox One Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 This is happening because there is a flight idle RPM and a ground idle RPM. The switch happens when front gear is compressed, so it is correct behaviour. After touchdown during aerobraking, because you are in flight idle with a higher RPM/higher thrust, speed is decreasing very slowly. It matches well what I see in a video I have, during aerobraking the speed decreases painfully slowly, I think the simulator got this very close to the real thing. My DCS videos
