RebelWisp Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hey guys, So I had them working, I was receiving instructions and responses while talking to AWACS and the airfield ATC. About 20-30 minutes in to the mission, all of a sudden the responses stopped. I hear myself asking for it, I hear my buddies asking... they say they get responses... but I do not get them myself. It isnt the radios, because I have radio assists on and I am currently flying the Mirage with the easy radios. I have seen this issue before with different modules too. Please and thank you!
Wizard1393 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I've seen this too. I've had it happen to both AWACS, TANKERS and JTACs. They just stop responding. But I've got not track or figured out why. Winston60 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This happens to me in multiplayer every time I eject from an airplane. When I re-spawn back in another aircraft, the ATC voice is gone. I can see the text in the upper left of the screen, but there's no sound. The only fix I have found is to exit the game back to desktop, re-start the game and re-enter the server.
tobyeez Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Is there a special way to set up Awacs to get them to call out ground targets?
tobyeez Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) So who calls out bullseye targets? I saw a DCS video where Awacs was calling out ground targets via the bullseye. Edited January 24, 2016 by tobyeez
Winston60 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 AWACS uses bullseye to call out air targets if you ask for "picture". If you ask for "bogey dope" AWACS will call out relative to your aircraft. AWACS does not see ground targets. Ground targets are a JSTAR aircraft task. However, it would be nice to someday have a JSTAR in DCS. On a video you may have heard some voice acting via a sound file played in the mission.
tobyeez Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I know I'm not blind. He is clearly calling out AAA targets.
Winston60 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Possible explanation 1: It's a video from a very old version of DCS or A-10C. Possible explanation 2: It's not the AWACS calling out ground targets, it's another flight. Time 0:54 -- AWACS (Wizard) calls out in voice 1: "Enfield 1-1, Wizard, clean" Time 2:40 -- Allied Flight (Wizard) calls out in voice 2: "Uzi, tally AAA at bulls 106 for 18" Edited January 26, 2016 by Winston60
tobyeez Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Ok. Well how do you set up flights to call out bullseye targets?
