NeilWillis Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) The greatest British pilot - without any shred of a doubt. Still holds numerous records and firsts, and was a pioneer of naval aviation. Rest in Peace Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown. He flew a total of 487 different aircraft types, and still holds the record for the greatest number of carrier landings - 2,407. First pilot ever to land a jet aircraft on a carrier, first to land a twin engined prop on a carrier, first to land a tricycle undercarriage aircraft on a carrier. Also the most highly decorated Fleet Air Arm pilot. Yesterday, the world lost one of it's greatest, but also most modest and decent of men. Edited February 22, 2016 by NeilWillis
