Hey guys,

I got my campaign for free with the Nevada Map.

After Wags put up the Dropbox files, I "installed"/copied them into my DCS directory to play the improved campaign.

However, the campaign did not work well, but that was mentioned in another thread.

Now, as 2.0.1 is out, I can not get back to my progress (the CSAR-mission/Mission 8). Instead, everytime I try to continue the campaign, I seem to "fall back" one mission after the other. So now, my next mission would be Mission 5...

I thought, the update would heal the screwed up Dropbox-files...

Any suggestions???

You should have a look at your logbook file, maybe it needs some cleaning-up. Check this post for an example.

Create a backup of this file first!

Hey Redglyph,

editing the file worked.

The Update itself did not work, though.

I will check, if the Update fixed the copy-protection issues of the Dropbox-files.

It did for me.

spiddx, it worked for me as well. Mission 8/CSAR worked like a charm. Wags and Steve you did a great job with this campaign. So immersive!

Thanks Redglyph for the hint about the .lua-file. :-)

I am having the same problem with campaign progression. I have done mission 4 twice and it still will not progress to mission 5. I got the message of mission complete and to return to base both times. I fly back to Nellis and land, taxi to parking, shutdown and exit the mission. Can someone elaborate on how to fix/edit the logbook file and what may actually be causing this problem? Thanks!

Maybe you could share the part of your logbook related to this campaign? It's hard to tell otherwise. I suppose something may be broken. I had similar problems sometimes, though it was regressing to the previous mission when one mission failed, not repeating one when it succeeded. Some even had DCS not starting because of something bothering it in the logbook, so it's pretty easy to break it.

In summary, though they appear in apparent index disorder in the lua script, each mission entry mainly specifies its stage ("stage") and whether it was successful or not ("result"). "stage" is increasing, 1 is the first mission, 2 the second, and so on, it should match the .miz filename. There might be several entries with the same stage, when the result is not enough to get on to the next stage. Finally, there should be one last entry (higher index number) with only the mission name and the stage, which is the next one to execute.

Check that the last complete entry (last mission flown) has a result bigger than 50, just in case there was something wrong with the mission script.

Thanks for the help! I finally got it to work! The entries were out of order for some reason and a previous entry for mission 4 with a result of 50 was after another entry for mission 4 with a result of 100. I cleaned it up a bit and changed the last entry to mission 5.

Good!

Heh, I yet have to succeed mission 4, I need more practice ;) I wish there were a save feature to try different approaches after the long trips to ingress. Of course using the replay feature is better than nothing, but still a bit lengthy to get there.

Anyway, love this Red Flag campaign :)

To succeed at mission four, I found that you have to destroy the majority of the enemy convoy on the road at the primary target waypoint. Two CBU97s will do the trick and you can use the rest of your weapons to clean up anything remaining and to attack the secondary target. Also, make sure that the SAMs have been neutralized and air superiority is achieved before pushing to the target.

I know but I just need to be more proficient with the Mavericks and setting them up more quickly on the two SA-19 of the convoy. I was almost tempted to climb to 15-20k' and drop CBU's on them, but that wouldn't be a good idea.

A tricky part is also maintaining the rest of the flight alive, they seem unable to evade the missiles launched by the SA-19 (actually I think they didn't even drop chaff).

For mission 4, my first priority was smacking the convoy SA-19/Tunguskas with mavericks. While mobile, they can't shoot you with missiles, and the other pair are on the other side of the mountains. Stay low, find the convoys on the road with your TGP, and make sure that your mavs don't bite off on a tank.

I've been telling my flight to "Anchor Here" when I hit the IP or somewhere along the line that's safe. Once I hit the SAMS and AAA, I've been telling element two to attack armor and save my wingman to clean up what #3 and #4 miss. on Mission 6, I got lucky and the CAS F-16s killed all of my artillery targets. Unfortunately, GBUs are broken if there's wind, so I had to call #2 to kill the last tank before running for home.

Dumb question

Maybe there's no such thing, but I feel very dumb here!

I have completed the first two missions of the red flag campaign, but every time I go to try mission 3 I get put back to the start?

Any ideas what's wrong here:helpsmilie:

BUG? / Can't advance

So, first of all, awesome campaign. Very immersive! The attention to the details is fantastic.

The problem is I can't get past the fifth mission. In a way or the other, sometimes, when I try to continue, the campaign status become inactive and I have to start all over again.

I know there was an update few weeks ago, and I can understand why my campaign was reset, but this happened three or four times already.

Last time it happened, I was flying mission five. As I was firing my last maverick, DCS crashed. After a deep breath, I started the game again and found out my last mission was a failure. Ok, another deep breath, launch the mission again, but strangely enough, I was on mission four. A DEEPER breath, completed mission four and went to sleep. Today, when I decided to fly mission five again, the campaign status was inactive. So obviously it's a bug, probably caused by the CTD I had yesterday.

My DCS is on ver 2.0.1.50747

If you need me to post any log, just ask

Now, I really don't want to fly all the missions again, is there a way to skip to mission 05 and pick the campaign from there? I know there is a progress.lua but I don't know what should be edited to skip to mission 05.

I had two pilots running in the same campain. This was causing my problem. So I deleted them both and began again with only one pilot. This seems to work.

Thanks guys, this is a great simulation!
