for those that can't log in I'll copy and paste there post's..

I just received the new Saitek rudder pedals today and installed the software that came with it. I already have been using a Saitek X52 for some months now and it was working. After the new rudder pedal software install the Profile Editor software crashes everytime I try to "Profile Now". Any ideas why and just as importantly, can't you run both the X52 and the Rudder Pedals at the same time? Please advise and thanks!

not to be too off topic here, but they are out already?

Make sure you are using the latest drivers and SST out. Check the announcements section for the latest X52 drivers. Install the X52 drivers, then the rudder drivers, then the SST from the CD (I am assuming it is the latest).

Hi,

Yes, do make sure that you're running the latest X52 drivers from the announcements section of the forum or the main website. If you are then also make sure that you have installed the programming software from the Rudder Pedals CD as it is newer.

Can you also confirm where you got the pedals from - I'd be intrigued to know if they were from an actual retailer because that would be a very quick time for it to take to get from our factory into your hands!

The Saitek company is about 11 miles from me in Torrance California and it only took a couple of days to receive them. I don't know if they've changed their web page yet but the last time I looked it had a 2 or 3 week lead time to receive them once ordered. So I decided to call Saitek, (since they reported that they would be available in August), and sure enough they were. They told me that they've got them in stock and so I grabbed one up.

These pedals look very sturdy and if I can get them to work correctly, appear to have the ability to last. I’m going to give it a try tonight and will let you gents know if they worked. Thanks for the advice and do let me know if you hear anything else about getting the X52 and the Pedals working together.

Mark,

Congrats on getting your pedals! I hope they let you rule the skies! As for installing, this is probably not entirely necessary, but I would uninstall all saitek programs and drivers, remove any registry entries remaining, and then start fresh. Start with the install of the most current X52 drivers from the announcements section of this forum, then install the rudder drivers and the SST from the CD. That should work. Also, if you are using an older profile, try creating a new one in the SST and enabling it. See if that causes or does not cause a crash.

Have fun!

S! Gentlemen,

I received my pedals yesterday, and I experienced no problems installing and running them. I also have the X-52. Something you may want to make sure of is that both the X-52 and the pedals are plugged in when you reinstall the SST software. Hope this helps.

Last I heard, they were shooting for August. They took away some comments from the SimHQ staff at E3 and have decided to tweek some things like spring tension, etc, but I seem to remember August was pretty firm. I can't wait as it is, but if Whirlwind of Vietnam is as good as people are saying it's going to be, I'm almost going to have to take some vacation time from work just to stay home and play. :o :D

why open a forum 2-3 months before it's needed though ...

Because discussion is already underway about them and it saves me having to remember to do it later on ;)

*END OF POST'S.

Ok..so there's just two people who look like they recieved there peddal's,and one of them live near a SAITEK wherehouse...but there availiable..good news.

For those that don't live near a wherehouse..we goto wait a little longer..

Hi,

The pedals should be available by the end of August/start of September. I don't have details of Canadian distributors here, but FutureShop do tend to stock most of our products so they're likely to be available from there.

Do they use HALL Sensors or Potentiometers? Or do they function on a different concept?

They use pots. But like the new flight-sticks they are analog-digital. Adjustable foot size and toe-brakes.

Just want to point out I have one of these units and the construction is a tad 'plasticky' with some creaking of the unit in operation. And the flat bottom (with low-profile rubber feet) doesn't like non-flat (and I mean flat) surfaces. But does come with 2 long strips of heavy-duty velcro to anchor it down.

Operation is great apart from floor slippage and the creaking noise. Needs bigger rubber feet.
