Hi,

- sorry my english isnt great, but i hope u get the idea , also i havent fully studied the gazelle yet, so also sorry if i missed a feature which is already there -

the training missions and tutorial videos show how you engage unarmed enemys from autohover, however this is extremly dangerous when the enemy shoots at you and u most likely get shoot down by enemy hots before u can launch a missile.

So tonight i used an additional gamepad in my left hand for aiming and attacking while flying with my right hand. it took some time to get used to, but it makes a huge differnce and allowed me to fire all my hots and kill 3 t55s before running into a shilka on my rtb. Also its great for scouting while aproaching the target zone.

As the gazelle can be flown hands off easily (by trimming) and using two joysticks is a bit overelaborate, it would be nice to have a safe way of toggling between using your stick for flight or aiming ( while not hovering) , which when tunring back from aiming to flight mode would wait for the stick to be centered first ( like trim on the ka50 works ).

Also its quite hard to align the chopper for launch from the copliots position while tracking the target if the target isnt straight ahead. There are nummbers showing u how far the sensor is rotated but an optical help like the artificial horizon in vis mode might make it much easier to align the chopper for the launch, sadly its hard to see from the copilots position / while focussing on the tv .

my suggestion would be to make this a toggleable overlay ( similar to the imput overlay) on the copliots tv screen so one could focus on the target and still have all the information needed to steer the chopper at the same time.

another solution could be to extend the slave-mode to not only work while hovering - it seems to use only the rudder atm which isnt enough to turn the chopper at high speeds. So perhaps when above like 50 kmh it should start to use roll instead / fade between both. Also it should disengage when closer than lets say 500 meters from target so it doesnt try to do a 180 deg turn when flying over the target.

I guess those things could help to improve the gazelles combat experience and effectiveness especialy for the poor single screen, simple stick & no trackir pilots like me :-) - what do you guys think and do you have any combat tricks to share ?

greetings

tobs
