dux Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I stumbled across this piece of software while looking for CAD drawings for the 80/20 aluminium profiles as I didn't want to spend the time modelling my own profiles and fittings in my preferred CAD package (AutoDesk Inventor). Later on in the year I will be building my own pit out of similar aluminium profiles so I thought I would get designing ASAP. Anyway, I though I would share this piece of software on the ED forums as I'm sure many people would like to build their own pit one day and this software might be useful. 80/20 aluminium is used by Monstertech for their HOTAS table mount product The frame designer software LINK: http://www.framexpert.com/products/framedesigner/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PC Specs i7-4790k GTX 970 MSI Z97 Gaming 5 24 GB RAM Samsung 850 Evo 240GB SSD

Equipment Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog CH Pro Pedals 3D Printed TrackIR
dux Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 I also just found this YouTube tutorial: [ame] [/ame] [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PC Specs i7-4790k GTX 970 MSI Z97 Gaming 5 24 GB RAM Samsung 850 Evo 240GB SSD

Equipment Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog CH Pro Pedals 3D Printed TrackIR
Ghostraider Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 But the price for the Profiles and parts are not so cheap i think [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]www.49th.de
dux Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 But the price for the Profiles and parts are not so cheap i think Yes, you are correct but when compared to using wood, the quality of the final product depends on the skill of the person making it and the tools that are available to him/her. With these aluminium profiles I can get them cut to size, which means that I only have to drill some holes for the adjustable fittings and screw the whole thing together. I'm not as practically skilled as some people who build sim pits and I don't want to waste material so this seems like a decent solution my problem. Ghostraider Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 sure its a great system but i think its easier to bild a Cockpit in wood but for adjustable parts and changeble cockpits (Car, Flight sim ect.) it is very good [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]www.49th.de
Lausbub78 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I've made my build out of 20x20mm aluminium profiles. I would have prefered wood because you have more flexibility in design choices. But since I have no space like a Garage or Garden to work in, I went with with aluminium profiles which i bought already cut to my measures. I only wish I had a program like this though.

I just looked at your pics from last year; your 20/20 pit looks really nice   [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PC Specs i7-4790k GTX 970 MSI Z97 Gaming 5 24 GB RAM Samsung 850 Evo 240GB SSD

Equipment Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog CH Pro Pedals 3D Printed TrackIR
Lausbub78 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Thanks, but it's been upgraded by a bit since then.,still not entirely finished though. (if it ever will be) :smilewink:
spaceraver Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 motedis.com is based in Germany. Cheap pricing. I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but I am looking to make a CNC cutter anyway, so I might order a lot of extrusion. Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging. Use SRS radio.
