jeffmaysefaith79 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Not sure if it's a bug or what, but on startup I do the FBW test and the DECOL light goes out. Now after I fly a mission and land, the DECOL light comes back on as soon as my wheels touch the runway. I tried to do the test again but it does not extinguish the light. Maybe I am doing something wrong but this doesn't seem right. I thought maybe I landed hard but have verified it a few more times and the landings were pretty smooth. Rlaxoxo Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Do you manually control your slats? I've noticed that if I manually extend slats for some landings the warning will go off as soon as I touch the ground and will stop when I put them back to auto [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
nomdeplume Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 DECOL will also come on if trim is not neutral. So if you trimmed at all during the flight, DECOL will activate as soon as you have weight on wheels.

T_A Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 try to also do ap test before fbw test, works for me. nomdeplume Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 What's the best way of resetting trim? Not sure. I think at present it may be too precise, in that any change of trim at all results in the light going on, rather than there being an "acceptable region". i.e. if you've performed the FBW test and the DECOL light is off, then you tap say trim nose down, the warning will sound immediately. Tap trim nose up, and the warning will remain. CptSmiley suggests a FBW reset to remove any trim, but I don't currently know how to do that.

If I remember correctly it's the little red button next to FBW gain switch? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Azrayen Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) What's the best way of resetting trim? One "click-click" on the AP standby trigger is the most immediate way to do it IRL. If you have mapped this (very useful) control (and you should!), do the same ;) = = = = = = = For non-French readers, in general: DECOL is short for Décollage, which means Take-Off. So this red warning is the "take-off configuration" warning. As such, it tests a number of things. Only if all are OK will the light go out. Sometimes, at landing, the warning will be triggered. This has to be expected. Most obvious cases are: - manual trim off center - slats manually set out (in case of engine troubles). ++ Az' Edited May 17, 2016 by Azrayen
