Fri13 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I need help to get DCS World re-installed. Long story short: I have updated to Window 10 by installing it to another drive, had DCSWorld on Steam in old drive. Yesterday I installed the standalone version, but didn't activate any modules because I had sound device problem (Windows didn't find sound card). Today I was forced to re-install Windows 10 (refresh etc didn't solve sound card problem) and I moved the DCS installation directory to F:\ drive for safe keeping so I don't need to download all 12 GB again. Now I moved the "DCS World" directory back to C:\ as I thought that I can just launch a DCS World installer I used to recheck the files and re-install itself. But installer says that the directory is in use, and it will not re-install as it can cause problems with modules activation (none is activated) and explains to use the DCS_updater.exe to repair/re-install. I read the simple guide from here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2548018 so I could run the "DCS_updater.exe repair", and it said that it is installing something required things, but DCSWorld doesn't get registered to Windows. Meaning I don't find DCS launcher from the desktop, not from the menu or not even the installed programs list. I can launch the DCS from the directory and runs fine, but I don't dare to activate any modules as likely they just go wasted as DCS isn't installed to Windows at all.
