Johnny Dioxin Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Had the F-5E since day 1 but only just had time for my first flight. Did the training mission for start-up and take-off, then landing. On the landing, I released the chute, having all three wheels on the deck. In my attempt to keep the aircraft on the centreline, I managed a full 360° spin along the middle of the runway and came to a halt. Only damage was a couple of blown tyres. However, for some unknown reason, the virtual instructor was not happy with my performance and sent me directly back to the ready room! :D How I wish I had pressed the 'record' key - I forgot we can't save tracks for training missions. Oh well... I would like to know why the plane was rolling badly to port once I had left the ground, though. I checked the axis controls and made sure everything was okay - but found the same behaviour at the start of the landing mission. Needed loads of wing trim to keep it level. Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
Kartoffel Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 The plane doesn't have anti-skid. Sadly you will have to make very minute inputs with the brakes to make sure you don't do circles! War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
