Bunyap Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) This is a playtesting session for one of ten 1954 Fighter Gunnery and Weapons Meet missions in the DCS: F-86 Sabre. This series of missions will replicate the actual missions flown as closely as is possible within DCS: World. A competition will be held following the release of DCS: World 2.5 that will give us all the opportunity to compare our performance directly with pilots of the time using these missions. Redglyph Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Great idea, Bunyap, I still have to watch part 3 but it looks very promising! :) I really like the concept of missions that make pilots perfect their skills and make the most out of an aircraft. For the A-10C there are Sabre's campaigns for example, and it's good to see a similar type of missions for other great modules like the Sabre! Ideas like the tour, other participants, flares to indicate the way (not much in the way of radar back then... I wonder how they managed in those situations), are nice touches too. EDIT Regarding whether or not to make the aggressors immortal, just a thought: perhaps if they are vulnerable it would give the pilots a good feeling of how much is required to actually shoot down an enemy, and would also require them to avoid the downed aircraft or any debris? The aggressor could always respawn if necessary, to keep the session long enough - not that with the amount of available ammo this could really be that long ;) Edited October 20, 2016 by Redglyph System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
