undertheradar Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Following the instructions in this post... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127230 results in the game crashing for me. Does anyone know of a more current instruction set?
blaueente Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Does ur server have a DX11 compatible graphics card ? Cross check with these : Minimale Systemanforderungen: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Freier Plattenplatz: 30 GB; Videokarte: 2 GB RAM , DirectX11 - kompatibel; Benötigt Internetaktivierung. mfg ente
undertheradar Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Yes, this PC used to play DCS as a client very well Win10 Home i5-4690K 3.9 MSI Z97S Krait Edition 16 Gig G.SKILL DDR3 1600 Nvidia GTX 970 Samsung 840 EVO 1T SSD Edited October 20, 2016 by undertheradar
blaueente Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Well... delete the relevant ../Saved Games/DCS folder, repair DCS via the updater and try again. the only file u need to create is the autoexec.cfg iirc. all other should be created by dcs at first mp launch as a server. mfg ente edit : dont forget to open and route port 10308 tcp/udp properly to this machine Edited October 20, 2016 by blaueente
undertheradar Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 edit : dont forget to open and route port 10308 tcp/udp properly to this machine Is that required to get the server to start up? Is there a log file that might point to a problem? Thank you :)
blaueente Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Port forwarding isnt required for firing up but for finding it in the mp server list. (maybe u also want to change the port for the hosting machine to something else in case u want to play from same/another comp on the same LAN) Logs can be found in ..//Saved Games/DCS/Logs mfg ente
undertheradar Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 (maybe u also want to change the port for the hosting machine to something else in case u want to play from same/another comp on the same LAN) I will be playing from another PC on the same subnet. I will also allow connections from the internet. Is this required? Thanks again!
blaueente Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 One can test, but i doubt itll work without editing the port for one machine.
undertheradar Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 After deleting that folder, the game launches now. Now I set my server up using the new server button on the multiplayer page instead of following that other post about 10 easy steps? Thanks again :)
blaueente Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Correct. New Server... Set it to ur preferences and select a mission. port editing is done afterwards in the serversettings.lua
