Redglyph Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 DCS version 1.5.4.57288.170 Hello, I had another go at the challenge campaign, and noted the following issues with the radio. In "Navigate Easy", we are told to contact Krymsk airfield without any mention of the channel. From the manual and the training, channel III is generally dedicated to ATC communications (pg. 84), so I expected to use that one. But in the mission editor, one can see that Krymsk is 39.00 MHz, and the channels are set as follows: I is 39.00 MHz, II is 38.40, III is 41.00 and IV is 42.00. It seems to be the same for the next missions, I haven't checked all of them. The problem goes further, the manual pg. 84 says that "Because on the first frequency selector position (I) sending and receiving are conducted at different frequencies, it is not used in this simulation" (should probably be "Because the first frequency selector position (I) is sending and receiving on different frequencies, it is not used in this simulation"). It is not clear to me what exactly position I does in the simulation, but if I want to communicate with the ATC, I have to use it together with the homing switch set to "Abst". If I use "Ft" either to listen, or to talk, or both, I hear nothing from the ATC. So it doesn't match any description found in the manual. Apparently the manual, the aircraft and the missions need to be synchronized on this point. PS. Maybe a suggestion for channel I: since there are very few available channels, it could be pretended that the radio set has been adapted to provide a unique frequency for transmitting and receiving on channel I. After all, hardware was constantly adapted and modified on those birds at the time ;) System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
