DPS Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Operation Lucan features a fictional war in which you fly a Russian Federation Air Force Su-27 against British, French and Turkish adversaries. The mission file is here http://www.dpsflight.com/Su27OLucan.htm And there is also a short video Streamed version And WMV file http://www.dpsflight.com/OperationLucan_0002.zip Operation Lucan Summer 1997. The Second Crimean War has entered its 4th year and the combined armies of France, Great Britain and Turkey have occupied most of the peninsular. Two days ago the pride of the Russian Navy, the carrier Kuznetzov left the port of Sochi and has had some success in disrupting the enemy’s supply lines with its P-700 anti-ship cruise missiles. However, the Turkish Navy guided-missile Destroyer Mustafa Natha has entered the Black Sea to protect the convoys. In addition to this, French Air force Mirage 2000 fighters are patrolling the area and have been able to intercept the P-700s. You are to lead a pair of Russian Federation Air Force (VVS) Su-27 fighters from the 1054th Fighter Aviation Regiment flying out of Anapa Air Base. Your task is to intercept the Mirage fighters that have been on CAP (Combat Air Patrol) east of the shipping lanes at SP5. This will allow our navy to deal with the Mustafa Natha. The mission will not be considered complete until the destroyer and all enemy air threats have been eliminated. 10:45 Hrs. You and your wingman are ready to depart when the Early Warning Station at Blagoveschenskaja detects bandits approaching from the west. Start engines immediately and intercept the inbound threat and then proceed to complete the main task. Weather fine, sky clear. Temperature 25 deg. An A-50 AWACS will be on station south of south-west of Novorossijsk shortly after you get airborne.
Silent Warrior Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 ... Huh? It's only one mission, what happened to our most diligent campaign-maker? (U da m4n!)
DPS Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 This campaign maker is a bit too busy at the moment - however, I do have some plans for more campaigns in the pipeline: one for the A-10 and a couple for the Su-27. I though Operation Lucan was quite interesting from the point of view that normally the Su-27s don't mix too well with the Mirage 2000, but if you use all the resources at your disposal it becomes easily winnable.
