DCS Update Patch Notes Discussion Thread

i'm confused too, mine shows unpacking over 51GB ... :-o

my SSD is about to run out of space :(

I don't understand why the patch notes are incomplete. Two weeks ago the icons on the map in the '3 Monitor' were porked, and were fixed 2 patches later, but nothing in the patch notes about it.

 

Now this week, the '3 Monitor' was fixed again after they porked the Controller's disappearing and Shadows detaching. And nothing in the notes.

 

I'm very happy these things were fixed. It would just be nice if it was documented, since I look at the notes to decide whether to do an update or not.

Taking a bit for this puppy to install.

 

Crap my SSD showing in the red, almost full - as it is installing. Had like 58 GB of free space when I started.

 

Edit: Whew ok, it finished and did the cleaning I guess, back to normal. Close call LOL.

 

This is why I set my DCS Updater to Download to another drive.

 

It will download and unpack on another drive, then copy / replace files on the SSD without needing extra space.

Same here Skates. I wasn't aware that this was possible until a few months ago. This method is saving my drive space now.

surface5 terrain mesh files were the bulk of the download sizes for the PG map, Caucasus and Nevada.

Yep, my stable just got updated to 22176. Never seen there only being a 2 day gap before. Interesting.
