Pikey Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Hi folks, I'm wondering if someone can help me with some finer technical details. I'm looking to simulate a Mig-21MF 1977 exported Somalian airframe with the currently modelled Mig-21 BiS that is our module. Specifically I'm looking for key differences and ways to dumb down the BiS. It appears the Bis had a stronger engine. I suppose it's hard, but is there a way to consider performance details a little more simplistically, like limiting to 97% throttle and removing emmergency AB? What were the key radar differences if any? I already can limit to the 1977 exported R-3S x4 loadout, but i'm interested in any A-G loadout considerations for Somalia in that time period also and I read a conflicting report of no internal cannon (or rounds) on that country in 1977. What were the major factors in a dogfight with an F-5E II for a MF vs a BiS? The last time I tried, the BiS had a great energy advantage, has that changed or is it closer to an MF performance? The purpose of this is to brief and allow Mig-21BiS pilots to more closely dumb down their aircraft in a fight with an F-5. By all accounts the F-5E was beating Soviet test pilots after the Ogaden war in simulated dogfights and the Soviets were disappointed with the results. It's not my personal findings of the balance in the game in DCS, hence the list of questions. All thoughts appreciated. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
