Sedlo Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Has the use of modifiers for controls been changed? It seems that they are now sticky? Before, the modifier acted like a shift key, as in it only modified the control when it was held. Now it seems like it's a CAPS LOCK key, which modifies everything pressed after it, until it is pressed again. Is this a new thing for the Open Beta, or just for the Harrier? Is there any way to change the way it behaves? EDIT, just checked, it works in the F-5 they way it always has... Harrier seems to be the CAPS LOCK style. If it's a feature, is there a way to reverse it? My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS
Zeus67 Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I don't understand the question. Can you be more clear? What modifiers are you talking about? "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
Guest Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I think he is talking about the controls modifiers in game, like shift or ctrl.
Sedlo Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 I'm using the T16000M flight control system. I assign one button as my modifier button, so the one button can effectively become two buttons. If I use my hat thingy on the stick, I can control the view. But when I press the modifier button, then the hat, I can control trim. In the other modules, the modifier acted like the shift key on a keyboard. It would only modify the other buttons while the modifier key was pressed. In the Harrier, the modifier button acts like a CAPS LOCK key, in that I press it and let it go, and it activates the modified function infinitely, or until I press it again. The modifier buttons can be configured either way in DCS options, make sure you set it up correctly.
