Gunnergolly Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) Guys i need your help !!!. Really sorry about the long post but have tried to include plenty of detail about my problem. I play using a 36” 1080P 60Hz LED TV which works really well providing that i can use in game “Vsync” and i also export my MFCD’s on to a 1366 x 768 secondary display. My PC that has two issues, the first is that it will not output more than 64 frames per second with Vsync turned off when playing DCS world. I have lived with this issue for ages as i found that if i used GeForce experience and turned on “instant” replay my graphics card would then jump up to the maximum FPS that it was capable of rendering. I understand that anything more than 60 FPS on my system is wasted but why is it being capped in this way, i cannot find the culprit ??. The second issue that i have which is the one that is really causing me a lot of bother is that when i play DCS with Vsync turned on my FPS jumps between either 60 or exactly 30. I understand a little bit about how Vsync works that if it cant hit 60 FPS then it will then switch to 30 FPS, however DCS with Vsync turned on has never done this in the past. If it couldn’t hit 60 then it would just render whatever it could, i.e 55, 45 but it never jumped straight to a solid 30 FPS ??. Normally, before i had this issue whenever i switched Vsync off i would get heavy tearing, however i’m not getting that now, there is no screen tearing no matter what my FPS is. However when i fly fast at low level with Vsync turned off i get stutters. I have done a lot of searching and read that people have been having problems since the Windows creator update caused by Game DVR which records in the background. I have turned off Game DVR and the Game Bar but this has not done anything. I have tried using Game Bar to record DCS and my FPS instantly jumps up to a solid 60 and stays there ??. Unfortunately when Game Bar is used it also disables my in game keyboard, i’e i can’t even use the Esc key to exit the session. However i have had it were i have shutdown the Game Bar using the task manager and DCS played at a constant 60 FPS until i restarted the computer. One time the Xbox app was running and so i used the Task manager to shut it down and my FPS again stayed at 60, however it is not repeatable. I have reinstalled windows 10 and a fresh install of DCS word OB and initially my FPS with Vsync turned off would render at its maxium. However something changed and my FPS started to max out to 64 again until i enabled Geforce “instant” replay. I have tried playing Steel Beast and the FPS is also capped at 64. I have tried IL-2 Sturmovik and the game has no issues as it renders at it’s maxium frame rate and will hold a constant 60FPS when in game Vsync is turned on. I have tried different driver releases but it makes no difference. The only thing that works is playing using full screen mode on a single screen, however that is not really an option as i like to export my MFCD’s onto a second monitor..... but full screen holds a constant 60 FPS. There is something seriously messing with my video card, and/or there are problems with ingame Vsync when playing in windowed mode . I have played in windowed mode exporting to a second screen for a long long time with Vsync turned on with no problems. I have tried using an external FPS limiter (RivaTuner) with the ingame Vsync turned off, the FPS stays at a constant 60 but unfortunately i get irritating stutters. I really would like to bottom this problem out as i have been experimenting with different things/settings for ages, but find myself getting nowhere and running out of ideas. I have attached my DxDiag if it is of any help and would really appreciate any input. Thanks.
