DCS starts solely in SteamVR mode!

After the last update today I cannot open DCS in normal mode anymore for one monitor, without that Steam VR launches itself automatically with it, setting the screen in VR mode (mirrored), even though my HMD PiMax is disconnected. And when I close Steam VR, it closes DCS with it. (see attached pic)

 

Before that I had to launch Steam VR manually first if I wanted DCS in VR mode.

If you haven't already, open the VR tab in the options. If the VR box is checked, uncheck it. If it is checked, DCS will start in VR always. If the VR box in the options, you might want to post your issue in the Steam forum. I don't believe SteamVR is required by DCS. I use the Oculus Rift, but I have never used SteamVR because Steam states that my system doesn't meet minimum specifications (even though it works well enough in DCS).

Please see the post by@Tuesday. In this same subforum. Seems to have found a solution.
