Shiny skins

Back when NTTR and portions of the new graphics engine was released a big thing was made about the F-86 having shiny metal look skins.

 

 

Whilst I don't own the F-86 I am wondering how the shiny skins are made?

 

 

And if it's possible to do that on the Huey or the TF-51 or any of the modules really?
