I am considering restarting an old project to upgrade an old flight sim. This is in part due to the fantastic videos (will the game have those filters? ;)) that have been produced for black shark. We need something to tide us over.

Here is how you can help:

- The mission files are compressed and, I think, encrypted

- I have a couple of example mission files that I found as part of the junk from the dev build

- These missions will not be read by the sim (they are either uncomplete or need to be compressed first)

- There are junk batch files that attrib (for read only) and invoke a directory called "gzipit" on the hard drive

- The sim's actual exec file appears to be able to spontaneously (even randomly) compress similar files used by the GUI (and which can also be read in an uncompressed format by the software)

So what role does gzipit play. Do you think there is a way to decompress these files...

I may not be able to finish this mod but here is the current plan -as encouragement:

Stage 1:

- new cockpit head position

- corrected hardpoints and more weapon loads

- reduced armour + a modified version of Zero-G's flightmodel

- improved weapons/AI behaviour

- a few new weapons: FAB-100, FAB-250, KGMU-2 submunition dispenser, S-25 heavy rocket, a second 80mm rocket warhead

- access to all campaign missions in the form of single missions

Stage 2:

- flyable Mi-24V and Mi-24P

- new weapons appropriate to these aircraft
