notg Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Hey everyone Ive just upgraded to a new system with the following specs: AMD Ryzen 2700x 16GB RAM DDR4 @3000mhz Asus ROG STRIX 1080ti 11GB Acer Predator 4K Monitor Samsung Pro 970 MSSD Windows 10 Home x64 With all settings on Max i get around 50fps in the cockpit, however when in the external view the frames drop to around 15-20. It seems changing the settings makes no difference to the frames in the external view. Is this normal for DCS World? Is there any tips on improving performance in this game? I should mention when in the cockpit even looking out the window i get a nice 50fps, only when i change to external does the frames drop significantly, even if i zoom in on the plane so there is no landscape in the screen it makes no difference. Thanks for any help

notg Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 Turn off Depth of Field. Strictly for screenshot taking only. Problem solved! Thanks!! I would never have thought of this, I was playing around with visible range, trees etc for ages to no effect but turning off Depth of Field solved it instantly, getting around 50fps in external view and cockpit now. Thanks again!
